The Final Fantasy 7 Remake For PS4 Comes On Two Discs, Square Enix Confirms At E3 2019 - GameSpot

Square Enix's E3 2019 press conference started off with an exciting and in-depth presentation of Final Fantasy VII Remake for PS4. The publisher gave us an overview of the game's revamped combat system, which mixes real-time action with the Active-Time Battle system. We also learned that the game will be quite massive, featuring two Blu-ray discs' worth of gameplay content.

We don't yet know exactly why it will require such a large amount of storage. Square Enix had previously said the Final Fantasy VII remake would be multiple parts, but it wasn't clear exactly what that meant. However, the first game (disc maybe?) "will be set in the eclectic city of Midgar and presents a fully standalone gaming experience," according to a press release, effectively expanding on the first leg of the original game.

That wasn't the only Final Fantasy VII news to come out of the press conference; Square Enix also showed off an extended version of the trailer that was revealed during June 9's Final Fantasy concert. This one gave us our first look at Tifa, along with more footage of the revamped battle system.

Square Enix also unveiled two new special editions for the game, including a $330 1st Class edition. All of this comes on the heels of Sunday's night announcement of a March 2020 release date for the much-anticipated remake, which releases exclusively on PS4. Producer Yoshinori Kitase said during the presentation that the team "will not disappoint your expectations." You can read more in our Final Fantasy VII Remake pre-order guide.

E3 2019 is steadily drawing to a close, so check the full schedule to see what presentations are left. And check back here for all the latest and hottest announcements and news updates.

Keanu Reeves was 'breathtaking' at XBox's E3 event - CNN

With his scene-stealing role in the Netflix rom-com, "Always Be My Maybe," and the success of his latest "John Wick" film, Reeves is having a moment.
He made the internet's day Sunday by popping up at E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo -- billed as the world's top video game conference -- in Los Angeles.
Reeves was in the house in an official capacity. He's reportedly in the game, "Cyberpunk 2077," and was there to promote it for XBox.
During Reeves' remarks, YouTuber Peter Sark yelled, "You're breathtaking!" Reeves returned the compliment verbatim, then said we're all breathtaking.
For the record, Sark's outburst earned him a free copy of the game, according to a tweet from the official "Cyberpunk 2077" account.
Naturally, Twitter went wild over Reeves' appearance on stage and in the game.
"Keanu Reeves wont stop until he's infiltrated every aspect of our lives," one person tweeted.
Please let this come to pass.

Razer’s 'mental performance' drink probably won't quench its thirst - Engadget

Razer

Razer wants to tackle another part of the gaming experience -- namely, the drinks you need to keep your momentum going. It's introducing Respawn (no connection to that Respawn), a "mental performance" drink mix that's meant to keep your focus sharp for long periods. No, it's not a direct knock-off of its most conspicuous rival, G Fuel. You'll find a few familiar ingredients like choline and Vitamin B, and it's equally sugar-free, but there's none of the taurine and less caffeine (95mg versus 150mg). The Razer-owned brand doesn't want to risk the crash you get with energy drinks -- this is meant for those hours-long sessions where you don't want to slip.

To no one's surprise, it won't come cheap. You can buy Respawn in 20-pack boxes for $25 in flavors like Blue Raspberry, Green Apple, Pomegranate Watermelon and Tropical Pineapple. And if you want to flaunt your fondness for the brand by getting the official shaker cup? That's another $30 -- and no, there's no Chroma lighting to match your PC. Respawn is available now in the US through both Amazon and Razer's websie, so you at least won't have to wait to give it a try.

The introduction comes somewhat out of left field, even for a company known to broaden is horizons, but it's not shocking. Although Respawn is technically a stand-alone company, it could serve as a way to push the Razer brand in the gaming community. After all, numerous streamers (like DrDisRespect and Viss) have G Fuel sponsorships. This could put Razer in front of a similar number of eyeballs, even if they don't immediately associate it with Respawn. It'll also give Razer a side business that isn't as easily destabilized by the ups and downs of gaming hardware.

Four times more powerful than the Xbox One X.Microsoft's Project Scarlett Xbox arrives holiday 2020

And our first chance for a hands-on demo.xCloud game streaming begins in October

If Microsoft's true next-gen gaming competitor is Google instead of Sony, then its xCloud game streaming service will be vital. At E3, the company announced streaming will launch this fall, with gamers able to play their titles (whether owned or included in Game Pass) streamed either from one of its datacenters or their own home Xbox One for free with console streaming. There's no word yet on pricing for cloud-powered access, but E3 attendees can try streaming Halo 5 or Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice on tablets and phones this week.

More rings.'Halo Infinite' arrives holiday 2020 alongside the new Xbox

343 revealed that Master Chief will once again return to the battlefield just in time for the holidays in 2020. What's more, the game will be a launch title for the upcoming Project Scarlett Xbox system. If you're not ready to upgrade, you'll still be able to play, since the plan is for it to support "more platforms than we ever have for a single game," across every Xbox One and PC.

Microsoft Details Xbox E3 Schedule, Lists Nintendo Direct As A Place You "Need To Be" - Nintendo Life

Switchxbox

Following on from the utterly bizarre scenes yesterday, where it was rumoured that Miyamoto would appear during Microsoft's E3 presentation (spoiler: he didn't), the official Xbox Twitter account has now given a nod to Nintendo's Direct taking place tomorrow.

The tweet shows "where you need to be for #XboxE3" and lists all of Microsoft's events, as well as several other briefings from other companies. Third party briefings appear - such as Bethesda and Ubisoft who will (and already have) shown off games that will be present on Xbox - but Nintendo is also listed. Hmm...

Yep, right there at the very top of the Tuesday column is Nintendo's E3 briefing - the 40-minute Direct which will be airing tomorrow. We can only think of two possible reasons for this being shown in the graphic.

The first potential reason is that perhaps Microsoft is simply sharing a list of E3 events in general, using "#XboxE3" to simply mean "E3". The second is that it wants Xbox players to watch Nintendo's show or, at the very least, is hinting that something Xbox-related will be discussed.

If fans do indeed "need to be" at the Nintendo Direct for Xbox content, what could that involve? Will Xbox Game Pass be available on Switch, just like how Xbox achievements have made their way to Nintendo's platform? Will Halo's Master Chief be revealed as the promised second Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character as previously speculated? Or will absolutely nothing happen, with the graphic tweeted above not meaning anything at all?

At this point, your guess is as good as ours. We guess we'll find out for definite tomorrow!
