As with every update that requires downtime, there are new files that are added, and some of the files added are Fortnite skins and other cosmetics that will be released in the future. These cosmetics will be released in the Item Shop in the upcoming weeks but there is no way of knowing when they will be released. There are many files that have also been encrypted by Epic in this patch, meaning data-miners are not able to leak them and so will remain a mystery until they are released.

Nintendo Is "Evaluating" Streaming Technology - GameSpot

With major players like Microsoft, Sony, and Google invested in game-streaming technologies, it could be the next big evolution for gaming. Now, a Nintendo executive has commented on the possibility of the Mario company getting involved.

Nintendo of America executive Charlie Scibetta told TechCrunch at E3 2019 that streaming is "certainly interesting technology." He added that Nintendo is monitoring the technology, going on to say that for now at least Nintendo is focusing on physical game sales and sales through the Nintendo eShop.

"Streaming is certainly interesting technology," he explained. "Nintendo is keeping a close eye on it and we're evaluating it. We don't have anything to announce right now in terms of adopting that technology. For us, it's still physical and it’s digital downloads through our eShop."

Another executive, marketing boss Doug Bowser (yes, that is his real name), told The Hollywood Reporter that "it's always interesting to see what others are doing in the space" as it relates to streaming.

"We're always interested in how various new technologies can enable different ways to play games," he said.

While Nintendo might not have a streaming service of its own, the company does operate a subscription service in the form of the Nintendo Switch Online membership program.

And though Nintendo doesn't offer a game-streaming service on Switch, other companies do. Capcom offers Resident Evil 7 as a streaming game on Switch in Japan, while Ubisoft does the same with Assassin's Creed Odyssey in the country.

The public beta for Microsoft's xCloud game-streaming service launches in October, while Google Stadia is slated for release in November. in other news, Microsoft and Sony recently announced an agreement for new cloud-gaming technologies.

Wacom releases rechargeable Bamboo Ink Plus for Windows 10 tablets - The Verge

Wacom is releasing a new stylus for pen-enabled Windows 10 PCs that adds tilt support and a rechargeable battery. The new stylus, the Bamboo Ink Plus, supports both the Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP) and the Wacom Active ElectroStatic (AES) protocol, meaning the stylus is compatible with devices from the MPP-supported Microsoft Surface laptops to the AES-supported Lenovo Thinkpad series of tablets. Users can switch to different protocols easily by holding both side buttons.

Unlike the previous Bamboo Ink, which required hard-to-find AAAA batteries, the Ink Plus is rechargeable via USB. Like the previous model, the Plus also has three different fine nibs (soft, medium, and firm), and has a triangular barrel which some artists find more ergonomic.

The Bamboo Ink Plus retails for $99.95, and is available now at Best Buy, Microsoft stores, and wacom.com.

Microsoft brings its To-Do app to Mac - TechCrunch

Microsft in 2017 said it would shut eventually down Wunderlist, a company it acquired, in order to forge ahead with its own “to do” app. It has since launched To-Do, as the app is called, on Windows, iOS, Android and the web and expanded its feature set. Today, it’s bringing the app to the Mac, as well.

The company announced this morning its To-Do app is live on the Mac App Store, where it will support most of the core features right away, including the ability to create and manage tasks, works offline, share lists, utilize tags, and more. It will also integrate with Microsoft Outlook to pull in your “Flagged” email list and will support integration with Planner soon, allowing you to see any items assigned to you.

The Mac version also takes advantage of its new platform to offer a handful of keyboard shortcuts, like 2 to minimize the app so it only displays the list view, and ⌘1 to return to viewing all your lists. You can click on a task’s text to edit it directly from the list view, as well.

It’s worth noting that Microsoft built this native Mac app using 100 percent AppKit, it says.

At Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference this month, the company announced a new set of tools — called Project Catalyst — that allow developers to bring their iPad apps to the Mac by leveraging their existing codebase. This is expected to bring more Mac apps to Apple’s Mac App Store over time, as it simplifies the process of maintaining multiple apps for various platforms. Twitter, for example, said on Friday that it would leverage Project Catalyst to bring its app back to the Mac.

Microsoft, however, went a different route.

A big question now is what today’s news will mean for Wunderlist — an app that has a near-perfect 4.9 out of 5 stars rating on the Mac App Store and the No. 21 most popular free app in the store’s Productivity category.

As of today’s launch, Microsoft To-Do has seen a surge of downloads and jumped ahead of its predecessor. It now claims the No. 11 spot in the same category (as of the time of writing).

Microsoft had earlier promised that it wouldn’t close down Wunderlist until it was confident that it has “incorporated the best of Wunderlist into To-Do.” Some of the company’s initial concerns were adding support for list sharing in To-Do and rolling out support for all platforms — which Microsoft has now done with this Mac app launch.

We asked Microsoft if it will comment on its updated plans for Wunderlist, as a result of this launch.

“We’re not currently working on new features for Wunderlist as we’re concentrating on our new app, Microsoft To-Do,” a spokesperson said. “Once we are confident that we have incorporated the best of Wunderlist into Microsoft To-Do, we will retire Wunderlist,” they added.

This is generally the same statement the company made years ago, so it doesn’t add much clarity to the situation.

In the meantime, the new Mac version of To-Do is a free download from the Mac App Store here.

iOS 13 beta 2 coming today for developers ahead of public beta release - 9to5Mac

[Update: Second beta versions of iOS 13, iPadOS 13, watchOS 6, macOS Catalina, and tvOS 13 are now available as an over-the-air update after installing developer profiles from Apple’s developer portal.]

Are you a thrill seeker testing Apple’s pre-release software and dealing with beta 1 life? Good news! It’s time to move on to beta 2 life in search of more stability and performance improvements. Apple will release iOS 13 beta 2 to registered developers later today, allowing developers to test their apps against a slightly more complete version of iOS 13.

Apple’s new software version won’t be complete until the fall, however, so testers should still expect performance and stability issues when running the iOS 13 beta on primary devices in this release. We’ll share our experience with the new beta version after we update our test devices.

iOS 13 will be available to test for free starting sometime next month; Apple announced at its WWDC 2019 keynote that the public beta program will start in July. We expect iOS 13 developer beta 3 to be the same build as iOS 13 public beta 1. That build will likely focus more on eliminating any show-stopping bugs to allow more testers to run Apple’s pre-release software before it’s officially released in the fall.

We also expect iPadOS 13 developer beta 2, watchOS 6 developer beta 2, tvOS 13 developer beta 2, and macOS Catalina developer beta 2 to be released today. Developer beta 1 required updating over a USB connection with iTunes or macOS Catalina; today’s release will include support for profiles and updating over-the-air.

Curious what Apple’s major software versions will do for your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Mac? Catch up on 9to5Mac’s coverage below:

Also stay tuned for our hands-on coverage with iOS 13 beta 2 and all the other betas as we dig in and unpack new user-facing changes as well as under-the-hood updates!
